People have fished for thousands or years, as a food supply and for enjoyment. There is something about hanging around nature and anticipating that first bite; it’s what gives the fisherman a tremendous thrill. Fly fishing can be a lot of fun. Fly fishing is a great activity that has a unique style and is different than any other kind of fishing. You will need completely different equipment, from the rod to your clothing.
If you are discovering that you’re losing many fish off your lure, then you probably need to thoroughly check the hooks. Dull or bent hooks can make it difficult to catch fish. So, if you are attracting fish with your lure, but are often losing them, try sharpening your hooks or replacing them.
Always be aware of the laws regarding fishing in any particular area. While some areas may not let you fish in a certain river or lake, others may prohibit certain bait. Make sure to talk to local government officials, if you are not sure.

Bug Spray
Insect repellent is an absolute must-have for your fishing trip. People often fish in areas where insects like mosquitoes are abundant. Ensure you use bug spray to avoid bites. If you are unfortunate enough to forget to pack the bug spray, you may suffer many insect bites on your fishing trip. Pack some anti-itch lotion just in case you get a few insect bites.
Very few baits will work in a similar way for all species of fish. To get the best results, know when and how to properly use a grub, jig or worm. For instance, in murky water, jigs work better because their typical movements attract the attention of fish nearby. Brightly colored lures work well in clear water where the fish can spot them easily.
It is not always wise to keep a large fish. When fishing, the larger fish are not necessarily going to be the ones that make a great meal, so you should return them back to the water. You want to do this because they could have collected contaminants, and that makes them more unhealthy to eat.
Make sure the bait is fastened properly to the hook; otherwise, you may lose it. This is particularly important if you are using live bait like worms. The best way is usually to thread the hook lengthwise through the worm. This prevents the worm from sliding off the hook.
